C3 CANNING PLACE

Even back in City of Liverpool days, City Centre Station was C3, although in those days it was more precisely named after the road on which it is situated.

Canning Place just before it went operational in May 1970.

At this time, Canning Place was possibly the only fire station in the country to have hydraulic booms on EVERY appliance.

STATION CLOSED ~ 4 AUGUST 2006 AND REPLACED BY NEW
CITY CENTRE FIRE STATION ON ST ANNE STREET.

Scania deliveries continue apace and DK05HBF was seen in the station yard at Kirkdale, 16 Janauary 2006.

Second pump M776WKC was hard at work during a large fire in Newton-le-Willows, 1 February 2006.

Volvo FL10 Bronto CPL, H158GBG was seen at Kirkdale, 16 January 2006.
