37/57 PENWORTHAM

'Penwortham and District Fire Station' in October 1972 at which time it was a retained station.
The appliance is likely to be Bedford TK DTD801B shown below.

After the 'A' registered Busmar bodied appliances, just 2 more water tenders and an Emergency Tender followed.
The first of these 3 appliances was DTD801B.

Another Bedford, this time KG VFV730V seen on the station forecourt.

Research suggests that Leyland Freighter D107TRN spent quite some time as a Driver Training Vehicle,
and that its time here was relatively short before it moved out to Earby.

Still going strong after 20 years, D107TRN was seen at the Fire Service College, 8 September 2007.

Presumably replacing D107TRN, was Leyland Freighter K157SCK

This appliance received the latest livery whilst at Tarleton, before moving on to its present station in Colne, 10 June 2004.

DAF LF began its working life at Penwortham in the Spring of 2006 following a period of use as a demonstrator.
The pictures above illustrate the livery variations carried during that time.
