Initially, most of this fire was within West Yorkshire FRS area and that was where the majority of appliances came from.  However, prevailiing winds were pushing the fire westwards into ther Greater Manchester FRS area. The pictures below were all taken from the Greater Manchester side and hopefully illustrate how the fire was spreading.
