D61/A14/W62 IRLAM

Irlam Fire Station D61 was originally part of Lancashire County Fire Brigade until 31st March 1974.  Thereafter it became part of the Greater Manchester County Fire Service where it was station A14 before becoming W62.

Although the registration plate is not visible, this is known to be Karrier 412ATC which was
sibsequently allocated to Newton-le-Willows for Driving Instruction, where it was photographed 11 May 1968.

Accidents do happen as seen with Bedford KTC576F at Worsley Workshops next to Leyland Firemaster WXJ286

Although a former Lancashire Station, Fords did not appear here until GMC days as exemplified by OVU855R.
